IT AS A SERVICE (XaaS)

Backup as a Service (BaaS)

Protecting your vital data from the risk of loss associated with user error, malicious attacks, or corruption.

Talk to an expert

So, what do we mean by Backup as a Service (BaaS)?

BaaS is a cloud-based solution that provides a streamlined and efficient way to back up your data and systems to a remote server or cloud storage. Instead of relying on traditional on-premises backup methods, BaaS leverages the capabilities of cloud computing to offer a more flexible, scalable, and automated approach to data protection in a single monthly subscription.

Benefits of Backup as a Service (BaaS)

1

Data backup & storage

BaaS enables you to regularly and automatically back up critical data, applications, files, and entire systems to remote cloud servers.

2

Fully managed

Nviron takes all operational responsibility for scheduling, maintaining, testing, and managing your backups. Should you need to recover some files or data, we can take care of that too.

3

Security by design

Your backups are secure in transit and at rest. Backups are stored offline, ensuring an ‘air gap’ between live data and your backups so they can’t be hacked.

4

Cost savings

Using BaaS eliminates the need for purchasing and maintaining physical backup hardware. Instead, you pay a monthly subscription for cloud-based storage resources. This leads to cost savings compared to traditional backup solutions.

Frequently asked questions

BaaS is a managed, third-party service where your data is secured in Nviron’s secure cloud repository. We can secure all business data, from files and images to entire application workloads and data sets. Alternatively, if you want to back up your Microsoft 365 estate, our M365BaaS service is HERE.

BaaS protects and secures your applications and data in an encrypted and immutable form across Nviron’s hybrid cloud. Whilst you retain access to the backed-up data, Nviron completes all management and maintenance. Your data can be backed up at a frequency that fits your requirements.

Backup and recovery delivered as a service automates the process of saving and tracking information, minimising potential data loss and reducing the workload for your internal IT teams, freeing them up to focus on other tasks.

BaaS removes the complexity associated with managing an on-premise backup infrastructure along with the silos that come with using multiple fragmented solutions across a hybrid cloud environment.

On a final note, BaaS makes it easier to recover your data by creating multiple levels of redundancy. If your data is lost or corrupted, locating and restoring a clean copy is simple, limiting potential downtime, lost productivity and damaged reputations.

BaaS and DRaaS are two different methods for backing up and recovering your data in the event of a disaster. Whilst BaaS only offers data recovery, DRaaS offers instantaneous recovery of data, applications, file systems and configurations through real-time replication, failover and failback capabilities, making it a much more complete solution.

BaaS is designed for situations where you will only need to recover data, not the IT infrastructure, in the event of a disaster. In contrast, DRaaS is much more complex, providing complete disaster recovery solutions designed for businesses that require full DR capabilities without the substantial upfront investment in IT infrastructure.
