Funding that changes children's education

We’ve got some exciting news. The government is backing schools with a fresh wave of funding — and £45 million has been earmarked to support digital upgrades in the classroom.

From broadband and Wi-Fi to cyber security, this is your chance to invest in essential tech without stretching your school’s budget

In the previous round of funding, our team at Nviron helped secure £250,000 for schools like New Bridge Multi Academy Trust. This investment enabled them to improve connectivity and use technology to break down barriers to learning.

If your school missed out on the previous round of funding, don’t worry — we’re here to help. In this article, we’ll break down what the latest funding includes, why it pays to act quickly, how Nviron can support you, and the benefits of securing it for your school.

What’s included in the £45M funding?

Before getting into the nitty-gritty, it's crucial to understand the government's long-term goal: ensuring every school has the digital infrastructure needed for modern education. By 2030, they aim to close the digital divide, stating that "no child should be left behind.".

Now, let’s break down the funding:

£25 million to extend the Connect the Classroom programme into 2025 – helping schools with poor wireless coverage install fast, reliable Wi-Fi across their site.

£20 million for fibre broadband upgrades – providing high-speed, future-proof connectivity to support digital learning.

This is how the funding benefits your school:

Digitalisation of classrooms: Assessments will identify the best interactive displays, digital whiteboards, and cloud-based tools to enhance learning.

Stronger Wi-Fi networks: Wireless connectivity is at the heart of the funding. Schools will receive expert consultation and equipment to install a fast, secure, easy-to-manage network.

Better access for all students: This investment will help remove digital barriers and ensure every child can thrive, particularly in disadvantaged areas.

Why should schools act fast?

In the coming weeks, thousands of schools will contact their trusted partners to secure their share—and we’re already receiving enquiries. We want to ensure you have all the information you need before getting in touch.

How can we help?

Our experts at Nviron can help schools secure funding and seamlessly upgrade their digital infrastructure. With years of experience in education IT, we help schools bridge the digital divide, ensure they receive DfE-compliant education technology and keep students connected.

We handle the entire process so your school can focus on what truly matters. Let's break down how we will help you towards the digitalisation of the classroom:

  • Valuation and consultation

Our team begins by assessing your school's current IT infrastructure. This valuation helps you pinpoint what upgrades are needed. Whether it's a new wireless network, digital devices, or a complete digitalisation of the classroom, we're here to guide you through the process.

  • Tailored solutions

Once the needs are clear, our team will work with you to design a bespoke solution that meets your school's requirements and the government's digital standards. This will ensure that a robust, credible plan supports your funding application.

  • Seamless installation

We are happy to coordinate installation work outside of school hours if required. A seamless process ensures the implementation of network upgrades without disrupting learning. We will help you choose what best fits your situation, just as we did with schools like New Bridge Multi Academy Trust.

  • Ongoing support

Beyond the initial installation, we provide managed IT support services to keep your systems running smoothly. These systems will free up your staff to focus on what matters most: educating the next generation.
